Business & Residential Sea Freight

Commercial and residential ocean freight from China to the United States offers the most cost-effective channel for bulk imports — but most forwarders treat residential delivery as an afterthought, adding surcharges after your cargo has already sailed. Yunxi International Logistics provides dedicated commercial and residential ocean freight from China to USA under an all-inclusive DDP service model. Whether your shipment delivers to a 3PL warehouse in Los Angeles or a private residence in rural Pennsylvania, Yunxi’s upfront DDP quote covers freight, customs clearance, duty payment, destination handling, and final doorstep delivery — with zero hidden residential surcharges and in-house control over every step from vessel to door.

Plan the shipment around your stock and your receiving address

Move commercial goods from China to a UK shop, warehouse, business premises or eligible home-based business address with a delivery plan agreed before dispatch. Our door-to-door sea freight from China to the UK connects the international shipment with the clearance, destination handling and final handover included in your quotation.

Start with the order you need to move and the site that must receive it. Yunxi Freight reviews both, so you can assess the complete arrangement before committing your goods.

Best suited to: planned replenishment, trial imports and larger orders that can accommodate sea transport. First information needed: product details, packed dimensions and weights, supplier location, cargo-ready date and UK postcode.

Is sea freight the right fit for this order?

Sea freight is worth assessing when the order is planned ahead and you want to compare transport options for the actual shipment size. A smaller order may suit a consolidated shipment; a larger order may justify a full-container assessment. Neither choice determines how the goods will be unloaded at the final address.

Your situation What we assess What you can decide
First commercial import Cargo information, import arrangements and complete delivery scope Whether the proposed order is ready to book
Several suppliers Readiness dates, collection points and consolidation cutoff Which goods travel together and how late goods are handled
Routine stock replenishment Purchase lead time, sailing availability and destination requirements When to prepare stock and instruct dispatch
Large order for a shop or home-based business Packed units, receiving access and unloading resources Whether the address can receive the proposed load

Our UK-route minimum is 21 kg, subject to cargo acceptance. Confirm the selected channel’s minimum charge and measurement basis before comparing prices. A shipment meeting the weight minimum still needs a suitable delivery arrangement.

Bring supplier readiness into the shipping plan

With several factories, the earliest ready date is not necessarily the dispatch date for the complete order. We can assess China to UK freight consolidation against the supplier locations, packing information and intended cutoff.

Agree which suppliers are included, who delivers to the consolidation point, and what happens if one supplier misses the cutoff. Any storage, additional collection, inspection, repacking or relabelling work must be confirmed in the scope and quotation. Waiting for every supplier may affect the planned departure; splitting the order creates a separate transport decision and cost.

For container planning, provide the packed unit sizes and loading requirements. Container availability alone does not establish a suitable delivery method for a residential street or a site without unloading equipment. The UK leg may require an agreed warehouse handling or onward vehicle arrangement, assessed before booking.

Business or residential: establish the actual handover

A postcode starts the assessment. The receiving conditions complete it. Our UK last mile freight delivery planning connects the cargo with the access, equipment and receiving arrangements at the address.

Receiving point Tell us before booking Agree in writing
Warehouse or commercial yard Receiving hours, vehicle restrictions, forklift availability and booking rules Vehicle suitability, unloading responsibility and handover point
Shop or business premises Loading bay, road restrictions, parking and opening hours Where the vehicle can stop and where goods will be handed over
Residential or home-based business Road width, slopes, gates, parking and available unloading assistance Accepted access, unloading method and delivery endpoint
Appointment-only premises Booking contact, available slots and required documents Who requests the appointment and how changes are handled

Door-to-door delivery needs a defined endpoint. Indoor placement, stairs, unpacking, assembly and installation are included only when specifically agreed. A tail-lift vehicle must be assessed against the actual load and ground conditions; requesting one does not establish that it can safely unload every crate or pallet.

We assess commercial goods going to eligible residential addresses. Household removals are outside this page’s service scope. PO boxes, military addresses and offshore islands are not accepted. Northern Ireland requests require a separate route and regulatory assessment.

Compare the complete sea freight quotation

The useful comparison is the same shipment, the same start point and the same receiving endpoint. Ask us to set out:

  • Collection or supplier handover, consolidation and export handling included in the plan.
  • Ocean transport and the relevant weight, volume or container charging basis.
  • UK clearance, destination handling, any warehouse work and the agreed final delivery.
  • Importer responsibilities, duties and import VAT treatment under the proposed arrangement.
  • Exclusions and conditions for storage, waiting, extra handling or a changed delivery requirement.

DDP and DAP allocate different import obligations under the agreed sale terms. Confirm the named place, the responsible parties and the logistics scope for your shipment. Unloading and indoor services should be checked separately rather than inferred from the trade term.

Port arrival is not the final delivery date. The door-to-door plan must allow for cargo availability, clearance, any agreed handling and the receiving arrangements. We confirm the available service and planning milestones against the actual booking; there is no universal transit promise for every address.

Case: Willow Retail’s first consolidated sea order

Willow Retail, an independent retailer in Surrey selling home accessories, needed to understand its first direct import beyond the factory’s freight estimate. Questions included clearance, destination costs, vehicle access and who would handle the next stage after UK arrival.

Yunxi reviewed the products, carton dimensions, weights, cargo value and delivery address. The proposed scope set out the charges, assumptions and exclusions. A consolidated sea shipment supported a smaller trial order, and receiving access and unloading arrangements were assessed before booking. A named contact supported supplier handover, documents and updates.

The published account describes the first shipment as a starting point for a repeatable import process. The practical lesson: assessing the order and the receiving site together gives a first-time importer a clearer basis for booking and planning the next purchase. A clear route from enquiry to dispatch

  1. Send the shipment facts. Provide the product description, packing list, cargo value, supplier locations, readiness dates and destination details.
  2. Review the proposed scope. Confirm the sea arrangement, collection and consolidation work, import responsibilities and receiving requirements.
  3. Approve the complete quotation. Check the charging basis, validity, inclusions, exclusions and any conditions still outstanding.
  4. Confirm readiness before release. Goods, documents and the delivery plan need to match the agreed arrangement before dispatch is instructed.

Yunxi connects China operations with three company-owned UK customs centres, five company-owned warehouses and more than 200 company-owned vehicles. These resources support document follow-up, warehouse coordination and dispatch planning. Actual transport and delivery resources are selected for the accepted shipment; customs authorities control clearance decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Can a small business use sea freight without filling a container?

Yes, a consolidated or less-than-container-load arrangement can be assessed for an accepted shipment. The UK-route minimum is 21 kg, but the quotation must also establish the relevant minimum charge, volume or weight basis and destination handling. Send actual packed measurements for a useful comparison.

Can you collect from several suppliers for one sea shipment?

We can assess the collection and consolidation requirement. Share each supplier’s location, packing details and ready date. The agreed cutoff and late-goods decision matter: one delayed supplier can change the departure plan or require a separate shipment.

Does residential delivery include carrying goods into the house?

Only if that work is expressly accepted and included in the written scope. Confirm the receiving endpoint, unloading method and any requested indoor work before booking. Residential address acceptance alone does not include carrying, stairs, assembly or installation.

Can a full container be sent directly to my address?

That requires an assessment of access, vehicle suitability, unloading resources and the receiving window. A full-container ocean booking does not establish that the final site can receive a container vehicle. Any alternative warehouse handling or onward delivery must be agreed and priced.

What if only a few cartons are urgent?

Tell us which units are needed first and when they will be ready. We can assess a separate priority batch against door to door air freight China to UK and compare its complete cost and delivery arrangements with keeping the order together by sea.

What do you need to quote accurately?

Send the product description, carton or pallet count, packed dimensions and gross weights, value, supplier addresses, ready date and UK delivery postcode. Add access photos or details, unloading equipment, receiving hours and the requested handover point. Identify any figures that are estimates so they can be confirmed before booking.
