Amazon FBA Shipment Status UK: Delivered vs Checked In vs Receiving
Blog 2026-10-30
Your carrier’s tracking shows delivered, but your Amazon UK stock is still not ready for the next promotion. The next step depends on whether the problem is delivery, receiving or stock availability.
An Amazon FBA shipment status describes a processing stage. Delivered, Checked In and Receiving do not mean the same thing, and a carrier’s proof of delivery (POD) does not confirm that Amazon has counted every unit. Compare the transport record, shipment events and SKU quantities before deciding whether to chase delivery, investigate a shortage or review stock availability.
This guide helps UK sellers receiving stock from China identify the missing step, prepare the right evidence and plan the next replenishment. A fulfilment centre (FC) is the Amazon receiving destination. A SKU is your stock-keeping unit; its FNSKU is Amazon’s Fulfillment Network Stock Keeping Unit identifier.
Need to decide what to do now? Check the delivery evidence, then use the investigation evidence checklist if quantities still differ.
What the Amazon FBA shipment statuses mean
Read carrier tracking separately from Seller Central. Amazon’s FBA receiving explanation distinguishes the stages below; the dock description is particularly relevant to trailer and pallet deliveries.
| Record or status | What it tells you | What to check next |
|---|---|---|
| Carrier POD | The carrier records a delivery within the scope of its receipt. | Destination, references, quantities and any exceptions. |
| Delivered | Carrier information indicates readiness for delivery or arrival at the facility yard. | Whether check-in has happened; delivery information can lag. |
| Checked In | The shipment has reached the dock stage, ready for unloading. | Unit receiving has not necessarily begun. |
| Receiving | Amazon has started scanning shipment labels. | Received quantities by SKU; processing may be partial. |
| Closed | The shipment is administratively closed. | Any unresolved quantity difference and investigation eligibility. |
Received units can become available for sale before the entire shipment finishes processing. Transfers between fulfilment centres may affect immediate dispatch. Check the individual SKU record before committing stock to a launch. See Amazon’s shipment tracking overview.
Delivered but not checked in at Amazon UK
First establish where “Delivered” appears: on the courier website, in a haulier’s message or in Seller Central. Save each record with its date and time. A booked delivery slot or a vehicle arriving at a gate is different from a completed delivery receipt.
Ask the carrier or managing forwarder to confirm the actual destination, delivery reference, carton or pallet count and any refusal, damage or rescheduling notes. Match these to your Shipment ID and assigned fulfilment centre. For parcel consignments, check every tracking number rather than treating one delivered carton as the whole shipment.
If the destination or reference conflicts, investigate that transport issue promptly. If the records match, keep monitoring the Amazon shipment events and retain the delivery evidence. An unchanged screen alone does not identify where the delay occurred.
Before dispatching a future shipment, verify the destination in the live shipping plan. Our UK Amazon fulfilment centre addresses guide can help with reference checks; it does not replace Amazon’s assigned delivery instructions.
How long does Amazon UK take to receive FBA stock
There is no single delivery-to-availability interval that applies to every Amazon UK shipment. Amazon’s public Shipment Events guidance describes automatic status updates and explains that receiving cannot be manually expedited. Plan from the latest message for your shipment, rather than a fixed number copied from an older forum post.
| What you see today | What to do now |
|---|---|
| Wrong destination, refusal, missing parcel or conflicting delivery details | Contact the carrier or managing forwarder promptly. Request the last completed event and the next transport action. |
| Delivery records match, but Amazon has not updated | Save the POD and latest event. Read the account’s processing message; set your own next review date and verify any unsupported carrier details. |
| Receiving continues and some units are absent | Compare quantities by SKU, prepare evidence and check investigation eligibility. A processing delay alone does not establish a loss. |
| All units are accounted for, but stock is unavailable | Ask Amazon Seller Support about the affected inventory or listing record. Keep this separate from a receiving shortage. |
| Research is available or a submission deadline is approaching | Follow the account’s available workflow. Record the displayed deadline and submit the requested evidence within it. |
Set an internal review date around the account message and business risk. If the instruction is unclear, ask Seller Support. For Black Friday or Christmas, build planning buffers from shipments with a comparable mode and destination FC; review the next replenishment while the earlier discrepancy remains open.
Separate unreceived units from stock that is unavailable
A single “missing stock” total can combine two different problems. Work out the receiving difference first, then review the inventory position for units already received.
Worked example with 100 cartons
60 cartons contain SKU A and 40 contain SKU B, with 10 units per carton. The POD records 100 cartons at the matching destination. All figures below use one review time, with no other shipments, sales, returns or adjustments.
| Quantity | SKU A | SKU B | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Planned units | 600 | 400 | 1,000 |
| Recorded as received | 600 | 250 | 850 |
| Shown as available in this example | 500 | 200 | 700 |
| Planned minus received | 0 | 150 | 150 |
Uses one shipment with 1,000 planned units in 100 cartons. At a single review time, 850 units are recorded as received and 700 of those are shown as available in the example. Planned minus received therefore leaves 150 units for receiving review; received minus available leaves a separate 150-unit inventory question. The latter calculation does not identify a cause. These figures are a teaching example, not UK receiving statistics or a Yunxi customer result. Amazon’s shipment tracking overview explains that received units can become available while transfers affect immediate dispatch. For real stock, first align identifiers, report scope and timestamps, then account for other receipts, sales, reservations, returns and adjustments. A POD supports the recorded carton delivery; it does not verify each carton’s contents or establish entitlement to reimbursement.
Where to get comparable figures
Start in the UK shipping queue, open the relevant shipment summary and review its contents. Amazon’s UK Send to Amazon guidance describes finding confirmed shipments by Shipment ID and opening their summary. Record the field labels exactly as displayed; do not silently treat a reconciled or located quantity as the original received count.
| Figure to compare | Record to use and scope check |
|---|---|
| Units dispatched | Your final packing and dispatch records, matched to the Shipment ID and SKU or FNSKU. Explain any difference from the original plan. |
| Units received or otherwise accounted for | The shipment contents and any reconciliation detail. Retain the displayed label, quantity and capture time for each product. |
| Current stock availability | The affected product’s FBA inventory record. Note whether the figure covers all UK stock or can be linked to this shipment. |
| Movements explaining the difference | Relevant inventory reports, such as the Inventory Ledger where available, plus orders and adjustments for the same product and period. |
If availability includes several shipments, do not subtract it directly from one shipment’s receipts. Reconcile at the product and marketplace level, or isolate this shipment using supporting movement records. In Seller Central help, search for the report name shown in your UK account if the menu differs.
Prepare the right evidence for an FBA investigation
Organise records so that each file answers a specific question. Amazon’s lost or delayed shipment guidance describes ownership and delivery evidence, including additional details for pallet or truck consignments. The current workflow determines what Amazon will accept.
| Evidence | What to retain or explain |
|---|---|
| Shipment identity | Shipment ID, destination FC code and current shipment summary. |
| Delivery records | Carrier tracking, POD, booking reference and exceptions; for freight, the applicable BOL and receipt details. |
| Packing and identification | Final carton contents, unit counts and legible box and product label records. |
| Ownership | Supplier invoice or another document permitted for your situation. Keep the original purchase details. |
| Quantity comparison | Expected and received units by SKU, relevant inventory records and capture time. |
| Case history | Eligibility message, submission deadline, evidence filenames, case ID and requested next action. |
A bill of lading (BOL) is a freight transport document. For less-than-truckload or full-truckload consignments, Amazon’s public evidence guidance describes box count, pickup weight and fulfilment-centre receipt confirmation. Check the requirements for your UK shipment and ask the carrier for the applicable complete record.
When an invoice covers more units than you shipped
If your supplier invoice covers 2,000 units but this shipment contains 30, keep the original invoice and explain the allocation separately using genuine packing and dispatch records. Identify purchased, shipped and disputed quantities clearly. The allocation note supplements the ownership evidence required by Amazon.
Request the right delivery records from Yunxi
For an existing Yunxi booking, contact the team handling your order with your Yunxi booking reference, Shipment ID, FC code, carrier reference, POD and latest event screenshot. Identify the missing event or conflicting detail, and ask which records are available under your agreed service scope.
For cargo booked through another provider, use our contact page to ask whether the documents you hold are sufficient for a transport-record review. Confirm scope, availability and any fee before sending a full evidence bundle. Amazon receiving and reimbursement questions remain with Amazon.
Our UK last mile freight delivery page explains the delivery part of the route and helps you identify which handover needs checking.
When can you request an investigation
Amazon’s public reconciliation guidance identifies Closed status and an estimated eligibility date as relevant. Check the eligibility message and actions shown for your own shipment. Do not calculate a universal claim date from the POD, and do not treat shipment closure as proof of loss.
Open the relevant shipment summary from the UK shipping queue. Review Shipment events for processing updates and Contents for quantities and any research options. Amazon’s UK partnered-parcel tracking guidance describes these tabs and the contents-based investigation route for that programme. Labels and available actions may differ by workflow; follow the instructions for your shipment.
Log the estimated eligibility date, the action currently available and the submission deadline as separate fields. Save changes to account messages and retain the case ID after submission. Ask Seller Support to clarify an unclear deadline or an unavailable action.
A focused Seller Support message
Adapt this example using verified figures and your actual shipment reference:
Subject: Shipment [ID] ― SKU B receiving difference
Our packing record shows 1,000 units across 100 cartons for FC [code]. The matching POD records delivery of 100 cartons on [date]. At [review date and time], Amazon shows 850 units received, leaving a 150-unit receiving difference for SKU B. The attached summary identifies the product codes and supporting filenames. The current eligibility message is [exact message]. Please confirm the next action permitted for this difference and any evidence still required. We are reviewing the separate inventory-availability question under [case reference, if applicable].
If a document is rejected, ask which requirement it fails and where the missing detail should appear. Answer the specific request and retain a consistent quantity history.
Illustrative Manchester replenishment scenario
Yunxi’s published Manchester Amazon seller replenishment scenario is labelled illustrative, not a verified customer account. It is useful for planning the next shipment, rather than establishing a receiving outcome.
In the scenario, a Manchester apparel seller prioritises its bestselling sizes. A smaller urgent batch is allocated to air freight and the balance to sea freight, subject to booking capacity and schedules. Carton information and labels are checked against the seller’s instructions, with delivery coordinated to the assigned UK Amazon destinations. Updates distinguish transport arrival, customs release and Amazon delivery; receiving remains a separate step.
The planning lesson is to compare the urgent batch’s cost with the stockout exposure for those SKUs. Track each shipment separately and count availability only when supported by its inventory records. The scenario provides no measured receiving time, cost saving or confirmed sales result.
Plan China to UK replenishment around usable stock
For the next shipment, keep four dates separate: cargo readiness and international departure; UK release and destination handling; final delivery; and Amazon processing with stock availability. A sailing date or signed POD covers only part of that path.
Use China to UK sailing schedules for the ocean leg. Build the receiving buffer from comparable shipments and revisit it when the fulfilment centre, route, shipping mode or season changes.
If available stock may run out, compare demand, existing inbound quantities and the next shipment’s full path to availability. Choose the route for the replenishment task:
| Option | When it may fit | Costs and limitations to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Direct to UK FBA | The Amazon plan is confirmed and stock is ready for the assigned destination. | Avoids a separate reserve-storage step, but still depends on delivery arrangements and Amazon processing. |
| Via a UK third-party logistics warehouse or 3PL | You need staged releases, storage or agreed preparation before FBA delivery. | Add storage, handling, preparation and each replenishment delivery. Every release still needs Amazon receiving. |
Use our direct to FBA or a UK 3PL guide to compare the complete cost, including storage and each onward delivery.
For Amazon FBA shipping from China to the UK, ask Yunxi to list the milestones, preparation tasks, delivery arrangements and documents in your quotation. For Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping, confirm the included charges and import responsibilities.
Request a UK FBA shipping quote. Send product details, China collection location, carton dimensions, total weight, carton or pallet count, cargo-ready date, destination FC and required stock date. This gives the team the information needed to discuss a suitable delivery plan.
FAQ
Why is my Amazon UK FBA shipment delivered but not checked in?
Carrier delivery and Amazon check-in are separate milestones. Match the destination, references and POD first. Resolve conflicting transport evidence with the carrier; otherwise follow the latest shipment message.
How long after Amazon UK delivery will my stock be available?
There is no universal guaranteed interval. Use the latest account message and the product’s inventory record; a delivery date alone is not a reliable promotion stock date.
My FBA shipment has been receiving for weeks ― is it lost?
The status alone cannot establish loss. Identify the SKU-level receiving difference and check investigation eligibility. If all units are accounted for, review inventory availability instead.
When can UK sellers investigate missing FBA units?
Check Contents in the shipment summary for eligibility and research options. Record the submission deadline separately; follow the actions available for your UK shipment.
Is a signed POD enough for an FBA missing inventory claim?
Not by itself: it does not verify every unit inside a carton. Supply the ownership, quantity and transport evidence requested for your shipment.
Does DDP shipping from China include Amazon UK receiving?
DDP governs agreed delivery and import responsibilities. It does not let a forwarder control Amazon’s receiving queue or guarantee when inventory becomes available. Confirm the quoted transport scope separately.
